Bus Evolution: From Horse-Drawn To Modern
A bus is one of the modern means of transportation in today’s era. Not owning a car is not a problem as you can commute by bus. Driving to far places can be tiring but you can have the option to ride a bus. Life has been favorable to us because of the existence of buses.
In the past, getting to various places was difficult. Before the 1800’s, steam cars were invented but not everyone could afford, but later on the horse bus or horse-drawn omnibus was introduced and people in the city were able to transport to other areas quite conveniently. This “bus” is carried by one or two horses with the driver seating at the front of a cabin that is enclosed has side benches inside. Double decker horse buses also existed in the past to try to accommodate more passengers by letting them seat on top of the cabin with a back to back bench and dragged by three horses.
It may look like a fun experience today, but back in the days, you can tell how unpleasant it must have been for some passengers. Some horses are not cleaned and get really smelly and irritable. Travel time of a horse bus can be affected also because horses can get tired and when this happens, it starts to walk slow while pulling the cabin. Horse flu existed back then, and it caused a halt to many horse-drawn transportations.
The next transportation that was invented was the cable car. This well-designed and efficient means of transportation did not quite get approved by officials as due to operational costs and safety reasons.
Next to cable car was the trolley bus. The trolley bus was designed in which it was guided through the rails on the streets and has routes set in different areas where passengers can drop off or ride. This system had a positive effect to both the people and the city because people in the rural area could travel to the city to work. The city’s economy increased due to these revolutionary changes and with the improving industry. Some cities today still have street cars being used by netizens.
The next invention was the motor bus which was even more favorable than the previous transport means. With this invention, the number of people commuting increased. Bus companies then started to change their bus designs by increasing the size and seats to accommodate more passengers.
Living in a big city can be quite a struggle especially when you need to go to certain areas. In the Big Apple alone, more than 2 million people use the bus to go to work every day. In Chicago, there are about 19,000 bus trips daily.
With these much people using the bus on a daily basis, you simply cannot ignore the fact that the bus can get really unhygienic.
It is essential to keep the environment inside the bus clean and for this to be possible, a bus wash company can be very helpful. A great bus wash company can provide efficient cleaning of buses and other related services. A clean bus is what many people want and need, and thankfully, there are bus wash services to keep in track with the demand.
